CHILD2015 Global Communications Package
CHILD2015 is pioneering a new approach to enable health professionals and others worldwide to contribute to international child health conferences. The approach (Global Communications Package, GCP) has been successfully tested at three UK conferences and is now ready to be applied anywhere. Please contact us for further details.
Example: CHILD2015 and International Child Health Group Meeting, Birmingham, November 2009
CHILD2015 members took part in a global email discussion during September and October 2009, in the run-up to the International Child Health Group Winter Meeting: ‘What works: The Evidence Base for International Child Health Interventions’, Thursday 5th November 2009, The Medical School, University of Birmingham, UK. A report of the meeting, prepared by CHILD2015, is available on the ICHG website, together with the speakers’ PowerPoint presentations.
All speakers were invited to join CHILD2015 and send a message to the CHILD2015 members, introducing their topic. Thanks to their ‘discussion starter’ messages, CHILD2015 members outside the UK had the opportunity to contribute to the meeting on three topics. Summaries of these discussions are available below (PDFs):
Topic 1: Evaluation of large-scale child survival programs
Topic 2: How to improve the quality of hospital care for newborns and children
Topic 3: Integrated Management of Childhood Illness

The key points and questions raised by CHILD2015 members were presented and discussed in Birmingham. Our thanks to speakers Jennifer Bryce (Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health), Mike English (KEMRI, Kenya) and Bernadette Daelmans (WHO). Thanks also to Oliver Jefferis (ICHG) for help with summaries.
